    I’m looking to buy either a PLB or a satellite ‘phone type device
    to take with me when I go bush or up into the Canterbury High Country where there’s no cell ‘phone coverage.

    Anyone out there have practical experience of using these devices? Any specific recommendations – preferably for something that won’t break the bank?

    Hi John, You may have resolved your ELB issue already. If not, and you want some information on the SPOT device let me know on the forum and we can get together. Ive used Spot for some years whilst “off piste” on my MTB here and overseas and similarly when running in the hills with no one else around. Cheers
